(see "Make the Right CPUMove," December 1992 BYTE) For several years, International Meta Systems ((310) 375-4700) has been working on a RISCchip that can emulate x86 and 680x0 processors at competitive speeds. The company says the delays are partly due to a need to improve the chip's speech-processing capabilities. The 3250 will target the hand-held market and sell for about $80 in volume when it ships, which is slated for the middle of this year.
