AOL/Bertelsmann Online began in Germany in December 1995. It should appear during this quarter in the U.K. and France. The service offers full Internet access and localized home pages, with buttons to change to the sections of other European countries or the U.S. The access software lets one user have different log-ons, which can be allocated to several persons within a company or a family.Charges: They differ throughout Europe. In Germany, for example, subscribers pay DM 15 per month for 5 free hours and DM 4.50 for each additional hour.


Access: AOL intends to cover 80 perc ent of the population in France, Germany, and the U.K. during the first half of this year. The number of access points will be 40 for France and 50 for Germany, all at 28.8-Kbps speed.
