The Quantum Sirocco 1700 ($265) and 2550 ($395) drives offer 1700 and 2550 MB of storage, respectively. The 3 1/2-inch drives combine magneto-resistive head technology and PRML. The ATA-2 interface supports local-bus AT programmed-I/O mode 4 and multiword DMA mode 2 da ta transfers at speeds up to 16.6 MBps with a rotational speed of 4500 rpm, as well as fast SCSI-3 data transfer rates up to 10 MBps.
