High-Availability Pentium File Servers

Two file servers for LAN and WAN applications, the MaxPro 1500 and MaxPro 800, support most NOSes and differing network configurations. The MaxPro 1500 ($7600) features 12 removable 5 1/4-inch half-height and three internal 3 1/2-inch drive bays. You can configure the fault-tolerant MaxPro 1500 unit as an integrated RAID server (supporting RAID 0-5) or as a CD-ROM-based server. The compact MaxPro 800 unit ($6600) features six 5 1/4-inch half-height and two internal 3 1/2-inch drive bays. Both file servers come equipped with 90- to 166-MHz Pentium-b ased motherboards; support for EISA, ISA, and PCI add-in boards; IDE and floppy drive controllers; 16 MB of on-board SIMMs, expandable to 384 MB; 256 or 512 KB of secondary cache memory; a dual, hot-swappable 300-W power suppl y; and error-detection and reporting capabilities.
