ArticlesEthernet Switch for 10- to 100-Mb Ethernet

March 1996 / International What's New Hardware / Ethernet Switch for 10- to 100-Mb Ethernet

D-Link's DES-2205 Fast Ethernet Switch is designed to fill the gap between 10-Mb Ethernet and faster Ethernet technologies. The unit allows migration from 10-Mb to 100-Mb Ethernet via four 10-Mb switch ports (10Base-T) and a 100-Mb Fast Ethernet port (100Base-TX). You can connect single workstations or complete Ethernet segments to th e switch ports. The DES-2205 switch, which offers an auto-learning function and employs the store-and-forward method, supports the IEEE 802.1D Spanning Tree Algorithm.
