Microcontrol's MA594 single-height Eurocard sound card has an optional double PC Card adapter and supports standard 8- and 16-bit WAV audio file formats. The unit, which offers a maximum playback time of 1 hour for an 11-kHz, 16-bit file from two 40-MB flash cards, features serial and parallel I/O. On-board operating VPM software allows for the definition of more than 4000 audio segments or phrases, which you can then link for complex announcements. In addition, an optional VPMASM embedded assembler for custom control software is available.
