ArticlesEuropeans Embrace Work-Flow Applications

April 1996 / International News & Views / Europeans Embrace Work-Flow Applications

Two years from now, European spending on work-flow software will be almost equivalent to that in the U.S. France, Germany, and the U.K. alone will account for more than 60 percent of the market. The value of work-flow software sold in these combined markets will be $1.1 billion in 1998, with the European market a ccounting for 49 percent. However, the number of European business users of client/server work-flow applications will then be only 25 percent of U.S. seats.

Work-flow products will be used differently in Europe than they are in the U.S. BIS Strategic Decisions (Luton, U.K.), a market-research company, says that this is because of cultural differences regarding the manner in which work is done in Northe rn and Southern European countries.
