EDS file-security software from Sophos secures files by scrambling them with DES or SPA encryption algorithms. Encrypted files are unreadable without a valid password. The company says that there are more than 7 times 1015 possible DES keys and that the estimated average time nee ded to crack encrypted files is more than 1000 years of computing on a Cray-2. The software is available for Windows, Windows 95, and DOS.
