May 1996 / International What's New Hardware / ScanMark Reads 2500 Documents Per Hour

Kendata's ScanMark 2500 optical mark reader features a Motorola MC68340 CPU, an automatic document feeder, and two programmable output hoppers. It can read 2500 documents an hour, Kendata says. The device uses reflective-read technology and reads one side per pass. Dual read heads are optional. The input feeder has a capacity of 250 sheets and a self-adjusting double-sheet detection facility. One output hopper has a 250-sheet capacity, while the other holds 100 sheets. Forms can be sorted by software control. Options include a bar-code reader and a built-in ink-jet printer. Driver software is available for Windows, DOS, and Macintosh.
