ArticlesEasier Access to E-mail While You're on the Road

October 1996 / International What's New / Easier Access to E-mail While You're on the Road

With HT Mail, checking e-mail from a remote site becomes easier and cheaper because this mailbox server software provides access to the post office of your LAN over the Internet. You launch a standard Web browser, tap in the corporate URL, and key in a password to access the e-mail system in your office. You get full access to personal and shared folders as well as the complete LAN address book.

HT Mail keeps your mail in sync while you're on the road. It doesn't matter if you download e-mail or read it on-line; when you are back in the office, you will find the complete e-mail conversation filed on your LAN. HT Mail links to an external Web server on your LAN but it can be used within your corporate intranet. The softwa re works with Micr osoft Exchange, MS Mail, cc:Mail, and other SMTP or MAPI messaging systems. Via MAPI you can even access Lotus Notes 4.0. Supported server platforms are Windows NT and Unix.
