The Interactive Solutions Mentis ($3699) computer measures 5-1/2 by 7-1/2 by 1-1/3 inches. It features a 75- to 166-MHz Pentium processor, a 2.5-GB IDE hard drive, a removable 6X CD-ROM drive, a Sound Blaster Pro audio card, and an MPEG decoder card. You can wear it on the hip with an LCD mounted waist high or with an optional head-mounted monitor. The manufacturer claims the lithium-ion battery lasts 6 to 8 hours. You can use a keyboard, but it is o ptimized for voice-recognition applications. The programs this product runs are interactive tutorials and diagnostic programs called Real-Time Mentoring, designed for technicians to take into the field and use to make repairs.
