Not everyone on a corporate network is a power user. IBM's new Series 1000 network computers are built to be cost-effective alternatives to a PC. They have e-mail and Internet and intranet access. They can run Java applets and applications as well as execute Windows applications via multiuser implementations of Window s NT on a PC server. They support 3270 and 5250 terminal applications and work with applications on AIX and Unix servers using X Window System server support.
