November 1997 / Inbox

article ActiveX Files
The otherwise very good ActiveX cover story (September) includes some disinformation in David Linthicum's sidebar on security.

article P&S'ing for Dollars
We appreciate BYTE's recognition of the growth of publish and subscribe technology ("Publish or Perish," by Richard Hackathorn, September).

article Web Groupware

article Other Interfaces

article Improbable Products, or If We Had a Million

article Hot Plug Today

article Fixes
We used Visual C++ ver sion 4.2, not 4.3, as part of our benchmark tests of Pentium II PCs (September Hardware Lab Report).
