Starting at $3599, the WinBook XL offers a 233-MHz Pentium with MMX, 256-KB Level 2 cache, 32-MB EDO RAM, 3-GB hard drive, 16-bit stereo sound, and 20X CD-ROM drive. These notebooks have a 13.3-inch XGA active-matrix color screen, 2-MB video RAM, and MPEG-I support f or multimedia functions. The units come with a touchpad, pointing device or, for another $79, both, which can be used simultaneously.
