AIX 4.3, available today, adds some 64-bit support, specifically for the new RS/6000 systems. It also adds up-to-12-way SMP and support for up to 16 GB of main memory. Many APIs and commands will be 64-bit-enabled, and the compilers will enable the creation of 32- and 64-bit executables. IBM is also adding networking features in a Bonus Pack that includes Lotus Domino Go Webserver and Netscape's Navigator and Fast Track Server.
