May 1998 / International What's New / File System for Embedded CPUs

RTFiles is a FAT file system for embedded CPUs that doesn't require an OS to manage file I/O. It ships with all the device drivers required to create, read, and write files on hard and floppy disks, flash memory, and IDE devices. There are two versions: one for embedded Intel 8088 or later CPUs and a 32-bit version that runs in protected mode for embe dded 386 or higher CPUs. When RTFiles is used with a multitasking system, all operations contain the appropriate file locking to support simultaneous calls from several tasks.
