ArticlesReady for I2O

May 1998 / International What's New / Ready for I2O

Siemens Nixdorf's Primergy server family is now ready for the new Intelligent I/O (I 2 O) architecture. The new versions of these enterprise servers -- models 460, 560, and 760 -- all build upon Intel's 960 I/O processor. Systems design follows closely the I 2 O specifications, which means that the Pentium CPUs are free from having to perform any input/output operations; I/O processors handle them.

Price: Starts at DM 12,000.
