The LPC-401X, an Intel Pentium-4 based small form computer system, is part of Stealth Computer Corporation's growing family of LittlePCs. Housed in a rugged extruded aluminum enclosure, the machine measures 10 inches by 5.8 inches by 2.8 inches (about the size of a hard cover book). The LPC-401X is integrated with Intel's Extreme Graphics 2 chip and is shipped with onboard LAN, USB-2.0, Firewire, Audio in/out, up to 200 GB of drive space, and processors ranging from the Intel P4 2.0 GHz up to the 3.2 GHz chip.

AKS-Labs has released the version 2.0 of Compare Suite, a file and folder comparison tool with merge and reporting abilities. Compare Suite deals with plain text, binary files and office documents (Word, Excel, PDF and HTML files). It offers word-by-word comparison, keyword comparison, or character comparison. A folder comparison function finds differences for all files stored in compared folders. A merge function allows you to edit compared documents and apply or decline changes.

Shoptalk Systems' Liberty BASIC v4.0—a Windows BASIC programming language for students, hobbyists, and engineers—emphasises simplicity and ease of use. Liberty BASIC has a text editor with pull-down menus, color-coded syntax highlighting, and a "run" button for executing programs immediately after they're written. Liberty BASIC also includes an integrated debugger that lets you step through each program instruction, and pinpoint any logic problems. The program's debugger includes an expression evaluator. Liberty BASIC comes with a tutorial and reference guide.
