Bright teeth in 3 steps.

April 26, 2019

We call our teeth our "pearly whites." But if yours look less like pearls and more like ivory, you’re not alone.

You can fight back. Here’s how.

Step 1: Choose Byte!

Whiter teeth are part of a better smile. You know it, and so do we. That’s why we give a tooth-whitening product (BrightByte™) to all of our clients.

BrightByte is a foam that works with your aligners. Load them up, stick them in, and you’re done! No weird applicators. No shining lights. Just whiter teeth that are getting aligned at the same time. Who says you can’t multitask?

BrightByte also shifts your aligners from visible to unnoticeable. While the fluid is brightening your teeth, it’s cleaning your aligners too. That means they won't cloud or fog up. They’ll be crystal clear, so your teeth can shine through.

Are you tempted to pick up something from the store instead? We don’t blame you. But don't do it.

Store-bought products can contain many ingredients professional products do. But the amount matters. When you’re cooking, you know that subbing an eighth of a teaspoon for a full one won't work. The same goes for brightening products. If it’s not right, it can’t help.

Our product is professional grade. But it’s a lot cheaper than the dentist version. It's the best way to remove any yellowing you have right now. But there are plenty of other things you can do to make sure the color doesn't come back.

Step 2: Stop smoking.

Tobacco in any form discolors your teeth. It works quickly too. Some smokers complain of tea-colored teeth just weeks after picking up the habit. If you’re using BrightByte and smoking, you’re fighting a battle with yourself. And you’ll end up losing.

Pick up a nicotine patch, and wear that baby. Talk through your cravings. Hug a cat. Do whatever you need to. Just stop smoking. Your teeth, your heart, your lungs—your whole body will thank you.

Step 3: Skip certain sips.

During your partnership with Byte, you’ll take out your aligners when you drink anything. Use that pause to really think about what’s sliding into your mouth and down your throat.

Plenty of brightly colored drinks linger on your teeth, including:

  • Coffee

  • Tea

  • Wine

  • Dark fruit juice

  • Soda

Plain water isn’t exciting. But your teeth love it. If you must try a sip with color, pay attention. Skip the stuff with man-made colors. Go as light as you can. And care for your teeth as soon as the drinking is done (which leads us nicely into the next point).

Step 4: Brush and floss.

The longer something colorful stays in contact with your teeth, the more damage it does. You don’t have to be a scientist to understand that. Your toothbrush and toothpaste are color’s worst enemies.

Here’s the good news: This fits into your aligner plan nicely. When you’re done eating and drinking, it’s time to clean your aligners. When you’re done brushing them, take a spin around your teeth.

And at night, kick up your game. Pull out the floss and rub around between those teeth. Pesky seeds that contain color? Be gone!

Does color really matter?

When it comes to your teeth, color is critical. Dingy, yellow teeth scream of neglect. Don’t let it happen to you.
