Welcome to the Byte fam, Kerry.
May 6, 2020
It’s a big day for all of us here at Byte: Kerry Washington has joined team Byte as a Creative Advisor and Investor. The Emmy, SAG, and Golden Globe nominated actor, director, producer, and activist will inform the creative strategy, helping make oral care more accessible worldwide.
Washington received widespread public recognition for her role as Olivia Pope on the hit ABC drama Scandal, breaking barriers by becoming the first African-American woman since 1974 to headline a network TV drama. Through her production company Simpson Street, she has produced many projects including Little Fires Everywhere and American Son, and continues to be passionate about affirming the value of every individual’s journey and bringing more confidence and opportunities to all.
“If you’re afraid to open your mouth, you’re never going to find your own voice”
We couldn’t agree more. At Byte, we know first-hand how loving your smile can give you a huge confidence boost. Partnering with Kerry on this mission just made sense.
For Kerry, it’s important that any brand she joins up with is reflective of her choices as a consumer. She’s only interested in working with companies whose values are in line with her own. So it goes without saying, that we’re thrilled to welcome Kerry as our newest partner. You may have seen her recent mention of it on The Ellen Show.
“Increasing access to affordable care and democratizing tools for success and wellness are priorities that are close to my heart. What Byte is doing, with both their product and charitable initiatives, aligns with these values. They’re making it possible for people to be able to afford the kind of smiles they’ve always wanted. Those smiles lead to greater confidence and an improved quality of life. This is the exact type of business I want to be a part of.”
Kerry, who is also a creative consultant for Neutrogena, has spent the last year reviewing hundreds of companies that fit within her mission of working with a brand that aligns with her objectives. After spending over a year with the Byte team and fully appreciating the impact Byte is having on people’s lives, she knew the partnership was a perfect fit.
And we did, too.
At Byte, she’ll work alongside our leadership team to help drive creative direction and strategy and expand our ByteCares giveback program to support even more people that otherwise wouldn’t have had the opportunity.
“We’re thrilled to welcome Kerry Washington as a partner at Byte,” says Scott Cohen, one of our co-founders. “Her brand values and continued commitment to improving access perfectly aligns with Byte’s mission.
Welcome to Byte, Kerry!
